Airman memorialized at Hill Air Force Base

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah (AFPN) --  Hundreds attended a memorial service here June 8 for a Hill Airman deployed to Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq, who was killed June 5 by an improvised explosive device that detonated near his convoy vehicle.

Tech. Sgt. Ryan A. Balmer, who was assigned here to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 113, is the fourth casualty from Hill since Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom began.  

Staff Sgt. Matthew Kuglics, from Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, also was killed in the same explosion.
