Goals card a compass for today's Airmen Published May 16, 2007 By Staff Sgt. Matthew Rosine Air Force News Agency SAN ANTONIO (AFPN) -- As Airmen serve around the world, they now have a "compass" to steer them toward more effective service. This compass is the Secretary of the Air Force's Goals Card. "These cards encapsulate more than just the Air Force mission," said Secretary of the Air Force Michael W. Wynne. "Every one of those goals is an important element of the way I would prefer that our Airmen take a look at their service." "When they think about integrity, service and excellence, the goals on that card are what, I believe, they should be focused on," he said. Many of the goals on this card are nothing new to Airmen. They are continuations of goals Secretary Wynne expressed early on in his term: fostering mutual respect and integrity; sustaining air, space and cyberspace capabilities; open, transparent business practices; and fostering Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century across the Air Force. The newest addition to the goal card is "Every Airman an ambassador to all we meet and serve." "When we serve overseas, we may be the only Americans that others interact with in that period of time, or in fact, in their life," Secretary Wynne said. "We need to portray America in its best light." Every Airman can get his or her own copy of the SECAF Goals Card online at Air Force Link. (Tech. Sgt.
