'Week in Photos' highlights Airmen in action

The "Week In Photos" Web feature on Air Force Link provides visitors with photos that highlight Air Force missions.

While in Iraq, Senior Airman David Hallmon inspects unused ammunition at Kirkuk Air Base, Iraq. All unserviceable ammo is sent to the explosive ordnance disposal team for detonation. Airman Hallmon is a munitions specialist with the 506th Air Expeditionary Group.

Learning more about what the Air Force is doing in the war on terrorism, students from a local school check out an Air Force explosive ordnance disposal robot during a field trip to the Arizona Science Center in downtown Phoenix. Explosive ordnance disposal specialists from nearby Luke Air Force Base brought the robot as part of Air Force Week in Phoenix.

While visitors are enjoying Air Force Week in Phoenix, the Air Force Academy mascot, the Bird, celebrates by sticking a landing during a timeout at the Air Force - DePaul National Invitation Tournament quarterfinal game March 21 at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Falcons edged the Blue Demons 52-51 for a berth in the NIT semifinals in New York City March 27 against Clemson.
