Air Force senior thrower Olivia Korte is the Mountain West Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced March 21.  It is the second such honor for Korte, who joins New Mexico's Anthony Fairbanks, who earned the men's weekly honor.

Korte is the top collegiate finisher in all three of her throwing events at the March 17 Potts Invitational in Boulder, Colo. She won the shot put with a toss of 45-7 ¾ and also finished first in the discus throw with a regional qualifying distance of 167-2. That distance is the third-best mark in the nation. The Seneca, Kan., native is also the top collegiate finisher (third overall) in the hammer throw with a distance of 156-2.

Korte and the rest of the Falcons travel to Fort Collins, Colo., for the Rob Upton Invitational March 24. The combined-event athletes begin action March 22 at the Glenn Morris Multi-Meet, which also takes place in Fort Collins.
