An Article 32 hearing for an Air Force Academy cadet charged with drug use convenes here Wednesday, March 21.

Cadet 1st Class Andrea Taylor, a senior, was charged March 13 with one violation of the Article 112a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, for wrongful use of the controlled substance D-Amphetamine.

An Article 32 hearing is used to determine if there is enough evidence to move the case forward to a court-martial or make recommendations for an alternate action.

If the case is forwarded to a general court-martial and if the cadet is found guilty of all charges and specifications, she faces a maximum punishment of 5 years confinement, dismissal from the Air Force, and total forfeiture of all pay and allowances.
