Hockey: Ehn named conference offensive player of week

Air Force junior center Eric Ehn was named the Atlantic Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week as he helped lead the Falcons to a two-game sweep of AIC in Springfield, Mass., Feb. 23-24.

Ehn, the nation's leading scorer with 60 points in 36 games, broke the AHA record for points in a season in league games with 45. Ehn had five points in the AIC series (2-3-5) and finished the conference regular-season schedule with 16 goals, a league-best 29 assists and a record-setting 45 points.

The product of Dexter, Mich., had three assists, including the helper on Andrew Ramsey's game-winner, Feb. 23 in AFA's 6-2 win at AIC. He then scored two goals Feb. 24 in the 5-1 win.

He became the first Falcon to score 60 or more points in a season in 27 years. He has scored in four straight games and has 13 points in his last six games.

Air Force, 16-15-5 overall and 13-10-5 in the AHA, is off until March 10 when the fourth-seeded Falcons host the fifth-seeded Holy Cross Crusaders at the Academy's Cadet Ice Arena at 7:05 p.m.
