Two Air Force hockey players earned conference player of the week awards from the Atlantic Hockey Association.

Senior left wing Andrew Ramsey was the league's offensive player of the week. Ramsey had a hand in six of AFA's seven goals in the two-game series vs. Canisius, Feb. 16-17. He had one goal and one assist in the 4-2 loss on Friday. A native of Noblesville, Ind., he then tied his career-best with four points on Saturday with two goals and two assists in the 5-0 win. Ramsey had a team-high 13 shots in the series.

On Friday, his goal in the first period was his 100th career point, becoming the 39th player in school history to reach the milestone. His six points on the weekend brought his season total to a career-best 40 points and his career total to 105 points. The award was Ramsey's second of the season.

Freshman right wing Jeff Hajner was named the league's rookie of the week. Hajner had career-bests of five points in the series and four points on Saturday. A product of Las Vegas, Nev., he had one goal in the 4-2 loss on Friday.

He then had one goal and three assists in the 5-0 win on Saturday. Hajner now has 21 points on the season and is AFA's top rookie scorer. He ranks fifth in the AHA in points by a rookie in conference games with 19 points in 26 league games. The award was the second of the season for Hajner.

AFA has earned six league player of the week awards this season.

The Falcons, 14-15-5 overall and 11-10-5 in the AHA, conclude the regular-season Friday-Saturday, Feb. 23-24, in Springfield, Mass., against AIC (American International College). Air Force needs at least one point in the AIC series, or a Holy Cross loss to Connecticut, to clinch home ice in the first round of the AHA playoffs on March 10.
