Air Force's top leaders address service concerns

The Air Force secretary and chief of staff took the opportunity to discuss the service's challenges and ongoing efforts in the war on terrorism Feb. 8 at the Air Force Association Air Warfare Symposium in Orlando, Fla.

Michael Wynne and Gen. T. Michael Moseley spoke about the challenges of force shaping in order to meet the budgetary constraints tied to recapitalization efforts by the Air Force all at a time when operations against an elusive enemy require a surge in joint forces.

"We accomplish our warfighting mission every day. We're engaged around the world, fighting terrorism and insurgents ... and fulfilling our roles as Airmen in the joint team," said General Moseley. "At the same time, we're also preparing for an uncertain future by doing all we can to become even more efficient and effective in this warfighting business."
