A lieutenant assigned here was sentenced Jan. 29 to 12 years in a federal prison for possessing and receiving child pornography.

First Lt. Harold G. Henderson Jr. also received 10 years of supervised probation once released from prison and a $500 fine, and he must register as a sex offender.

Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigations agents initially arrested Lieutenant Henderson near his off-base Cheyenne, Wyo., residence June 17, 2006, and held him in the Laramie County Jail. He posted $2,500 in bail and was released awaiting charges. A federal grand jury indicted Lieutenant Henderson Aug. 1, at which time a federal judge restricted him to base pending trial.

The trial began Nov. 13 at the U.S. District Court in Casper, Wyo., where the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Warren Legal Office jointly prosecuted the case. After Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Sprecher and Capt. Julia Muedeking, Warren's prosecutor, presented most of the government's case, Lieutenant Henderson pled guilty Nov. 15 to possession and receipt of child pornography.

During the investigation, agents found Lieutenant Henderson in possession of about 400 images of child pornography.

Captain Muedeking said the images included "very graphic" movies and other images.
The captain added that the Air Force may pursue other administrative action against Lieutenant Henderson.

Lieutenant Henderson was a missileer with the 319th Missile Squadron here. He entered active duty May 8, 2003, and arrived at Warren Feb. 6, 2004.
