Air Force women's soccer places 5 on academic all-conference team Published Feb. 2, 2007 U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AFNEWS) -- The Air Force women's soccer team placed five student-athletes on the Mountain West Conference Academic All-Conference Team. Senior Katherine Plichta led the way with her fourth academic all-conference selection. Plichta, a Littleton native, joins Jennifer Ford (class of 2004) and Amanda Cleland (class of 2005) as four-time academic all-conference selections for the Falcons. Junior Katherine Slogic earned her second selection as did sophomores Kim Hale and Roni Yadlin. Freshman Kelsey Yip, also a Littleton native, earned her first selection. A total of 363 student-athletes were named to the fall 2006 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team. Fall sports include men's and women's cross country, football, women's soccer and women's volleyball.To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.BYU led the way with 89 student-athletes named to the team, followed by Wyoming (43), New Mexico (40), UNLV (36), Utah (36) and TCU (36), Air Force (32), San Diego State (27) and Colorado State (24).
