With a hot three-point shooting effort from the Cowgirls, the Air Force women's basketball team dropped a 64-43 contest to Wyoming Jan. 27 at Clune Arena. The Falcons fall to 4-15 overall, 0-8 in the Mountain West Conference, while the Cowgirls improve to 14-5, 5-2 in the MWC.

The Falcons jumped out to an early 7-6 lead before the Cowgirls responded with an 8-0 run. Air Force closed the game to a single point before Wyoming increased the lead to 34-29 at the half.

Air Force pulled within three points to start the second half with a basket by senior Letricia Castillo, who is from Anchorage, Alaska. However, Wyoming hit four unanswered three-point field goals to extend its lead to double digits. The Cowgirls knocked down six of the first eight three-point field goals in the half, while holding the Falcons to just 14 points after the break.

Junior Alecia Steele from Oklahoma City, Okla., was the lone scorer in double-figures for the Falcons, finishing with 12 points. Megan McGuffey led the Cowgirls with 17 points, while Hanna Zavecz added 12.

Air Force returns to action Feb. 4 against Colorado State.
