Airmen receive 2006 intelligence awards

The Air Force Intelligence Reserve and Alumni organization held its 56th annual holiday awards banquet here recently to recognize individual mobility augmentees, as well as several others, who supported the service's intelligence community throughout the year.

The banquet was attended by 160 active duty, Reserve, Guard and retired Air Force intelligence professionals.

The four main award winners were:

NCO of the Year -- Tech. Sgt. Robert Ericksen, National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Md.

Senior NCO of the Year -- Senior Master Sgt. Kelly Riske, 480th Intelligence Wing, Langley Air Force Base, Va.

CGO of the Year -- Capt. Crystal Penney, Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill.

FGO of the Year -- Lt. Col. Jeffrey Hinrichs, Air University, Maxwell AFB, Ala.

The other award winners were:

Whitebergh Award -- Glenn Sommers, National Air and Space Intelligence Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

Gilligan Award -- Robert Boyd, former director of the Air Force Intelligence Analysis Agency, Kelly AFB, Texas.

Cabell Award -- Lt. Gen. Ronald F. Sams, former director of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, deputy chief of staff for Air and Space Operations; and assistant chief of staff, Intelligence, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon.
