Senior Airman Renika Adams has always been about helping people. Ever since she was very young, the ambulance services technician with Incirlik Air Base's 39th Medical Group has wanted to be a nurse.

"There's always someone hurt, there's always someone sick, and we're here if anybody needs us at any time," said Airman Adams.

Many servicemembers are taking some time off over the holiday season, but injuries and illnesses happen around the clock. So while others opened their presents on Christmas morning, Airman Adams was standing by at Incirlik's Immediate Care Clinic.

She felt that she was doing her part to prevent someone's joyful season from becoming tragic.

"I'll be thinking about my family of course, wishing I was with them, but also about my patients, making sure they're okay and that they can enjoy their Christmas as well," she said.

The current ambulance driver and future nurse serves through the season so others can enjoy theirs.
