Cyrogenics is a cold business
Airman 1st Class Andrew Tuttle, 354th Logistics Readiness Squadron, fills a Liquid Oxygen (LOX) cart here Dec 20. The plume is the result of burnoff and the extremely low boiling point of the LOX. The LOX is used in aircraft as the breathing oxygen for pilots. It is run through an odor particulate sample before every cart is filled to ensure the pilots only receive good oxygen.
