Senior Airman Doyle Cox and Tech. Sgt. Cassandra Stevens offer 12-year-old Ayou some finer points in painting a building that will serve as a kitchen and dining facility for nearly 30 local youths Dec. 12 in Djibouti. Airman Cox is a California Air National Guardsman based in the Channel Islands and Sergeant Stevens is a Delaware Air National Guardsman based in New Castle. Both Sergeant Stevens and Airman Cox are aeromedical technicians who volunteer their spare time to help a local boy's orphanage. Airmen assigned to the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa help prevent conflict, promote regional stability and protect coalition interests in order to prevail against extremism. More than 1,500 people from each branch of the U. S. military, civilian employees, coalition forces and partner nations make up the organization. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Scott Wagers)
