The Air Force wrestling team continued its 2006-2007 season Saturday at the Kaufman-Brand Open, hosted by Nebraska-Omaha. Freshman Tyler French, native of Malta, Mont., led the Falcons with a fifth-place finish at 174 pounds in the Amateur Division.

French opened the day with a 9-2 decision over Dominick Oliver of Minnesota West. He then pinned Labette's Dusty Hart in a time of 36 seconds before suffering his first loss of the afternoon, a fall by Nebraska-Omaha's Aaron Denson. French picked up two more victories in the wrestlebacks, registering a 7-1 decision over Josh Ghobadpoor from Dana College, before defeating Northern Iowa's Andy O'Loughlin, 6-2. After falling to North Dakota State's Kenny Moenkedick, French moved into the fifth place match where he registered a 4-0 decision over Minnesota-Mankato's Ben Becker.

The Falcons return to action next weekend, Nov. 25, at the Oklahoma Open.
