Captain marches into history
Capt. Jutta Cortes, center, led volunteer efforts in November 2005 to restore the Habbaniya cemetery in Iraq and organized the first official remembrance service there since 1959. The cemetery, located on the former British base, serves as the final resting place for many servicemembers and their families. The efforts by Captain Cortes led to a request by the RAF Habbaniya Association for her to join its British regiment in a remembrance service at The Cenotaph memorial in London's Whitehall Nov. 12.
