On the first day of its final weekend of regular season action, the No. 16 Air Force water polo team went 1-1 against conference foes Loyola Marymount and Redlands Nov. 4. The Falcons fell to No. 7 LMU 11-4 before downing No. 19 Redlands 9-4.

With two more contests remaining this weekend, Air Force moves to 10-15 overall, 6-5 in the Western Water Polo Association.

The Falcons began the day with a contest versus seventh-ranked Loyola Marymount. Although sophomore Joey Brewer helped tie the game at 2-2 in the first period for the Air Force, the Lions went on an 8-0 run over the next two quarters to take a commanding lead. While the Air Force did outscore LMU 2-1 in the final period, it was to no avail, as the Lions took the 11-4 victory.

Brewer scored two goals in the contest for the Falcons, while senior Kyle Schafer and sophomore Tyler Hewko each added a goal.

In the second contest of the day, Air Force took on 19th-ranked Redlands, which entered the game on a 10-game win streak. However, the Falcons got out to a quick 3-0 lead and never looked back, as senior Danny Kimmich and junior Justin Berry notched two goals each to lead Air Force to the 9-4 victory.

Also scoring for the Falcons against the Bulldogs were Clark Condict, Matt LeBlanc, Jack Hines, Alex Churnside and Schafer. Meanwhile, senior goalkeeper Denver Saunders tallied 12 saves in the victory for Air Force.

The Falcons wrap up the regular season Nov. 5 with a pair of contests versus WWPA foes Chapman and Claremont.
