Teams pull for charity

Seventeen teams competed in this year's "Combined Federal Campaign Aircraft Pull" Oct. 12 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The event raised more than $3,400 for the CFC.

For the annual pull, teams comprise 15 to 20 pullers and team categories include all male, all female and coed. One fourth of a coed team must be female. The winners are determined by which team can pull a 60,000-pound EF-111 Raven the farthest in 45 seconds. Each team contributes an entry fee which goes to the CFC as undesignated funds.

For this year's event, the male category winner was AFMC-A7 which pulled the aircraft 282 feet, 7 inches. DTS Ladies won the female category pulling for 126 feet, 6 inches. This year, the co-ed category winners, 516th AESW, broke the co-ed record by pulling 302 feet, 8 inches.

The 2006 to 2007 Combined Federal Campaign runs for six weeks Sept. 1 through Dec. 15 for both continental United States and overseas bases, with exact dates for any given geographic area set by a local coordinating committee.
