Falcons in 8th place after two rounds

With two rounds under wraps, the U.S. Air Force Academy men's golf team sits in a tie for eighth place at Nevada's Wolf Pack Classic here.

Held at the 7,100-yard, par-72 Wolf Run Golf Course, the Falcons combined for a four-over-par day one score of 580 and are tied with Hawaii. Utah leads in the team standings at 562 and 14 under par, while the Utes' Dustin Pimm sits atop the individual leader board at 12 under par, 132.

Leading the way for the Falcons is freshman Tom Whitney who shot a five-under-par 139 on day one to sit in seventh place. Senior Tyler Goulding, who fired a 66 in the second round, sits a stroke behind in a tie for eighth place.

Rounding out the group of competitors for the Air Force are sophomore Andrew Gibson at 152, junior Matt Tanis at 156 and junior Jared Freeman at 157.

The final round of the Wolf Pack Classic concludes today.
