(AFPN) -- The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate has awarded a $49.9 million contract to Intelligent Software Solution Inc. of Colorado Springs, Colo., to upgrade intelligence capabilities at U.S. sites around the world. The five-year agreement is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide for secure information access, analysis and dissemination.The Air Force can issue delivery orders totaling up to the maximum, although actual requirements may necessitate less than that ceiling amount. Under the contract, ISS will provide various military branches, commands and federal agencies with software that combines data from many sources so information can be easily viewed and analyzed. "This contract is a follow-on to work ISS performed in designing, developing, testing and demonstrating software enhancements to the directorate's Web-enable Timeline Analysis System (WebTAS) technology," said Michael Welch, technical advisor in the directorate's Information and Intelligence Exploitation Division. "Those upgrades included the development of the Theater Battle Operations Net-centric Environment (T-BONE) system, and the integration of information fusion and Net-centric technologies into the WebTAS software," Mr. Welch said. WebTAS provides a capability to rapidly connect to diverse data sources and combine the data in multiple analytical/visualization tools, with the goal of providing alerts/warnings of developing situations. Currently, WebTAS supports operational users in the tracking of events, individuals, and/or organizations in support of counter insurgency, counter drug, counterterrorism and law enforcement.
