Civilian personnel system integrates under one umbrella Published July 12, 2006 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- A symbolic ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the Air Force Personnel Center here to mark the Directorate of Civilian Force Integration's initial operating capability. Maj. Gen. Tony Przybyslawski, AFPC commander, praised the civilian Airmen for what they have accomplished and reminded them of their impact throughout the Air Force. "This integration of the civilian personnel system under one umbrella will advance the whole process of how we take care of our folks even further," the general said. "This is the hub of the universe for the entire Air Force when it comes to taking care of people. The Directorate of Civilian Force Integration, or DPI, is organized into four career field management divisions and a program management and support division. The directorate has synergized civilian personnel management into a single "cradle to grave" career management operation for developing the Air Force civilian workforce. While celebrating this significant milestone, the DPI director, Col. James Sturch, wanted to make sure his staff knew this was just the beginning and there was more work to be done."What you have done here will have a great impact on how we deliver personnel services throughout the Air Force," Colonel Sturch said. "But, this is just the starting line as we will continue to evaluate and streamline processes to reach the Air Force Smart Operations 21 vision of maximum capability and efficiency."(Courtesy of Air Force Personnel Center News Service)
