Handout updated for overseas returnees Published June 29, 2006 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- Lieutenant colonels and below and senior master sergeants and below who are eligible to return from overseas assignments now have an updated guide to make informed decisions regarding their assignment options. The Overseas Counseling Handout, issued by military personnel flight or commander support staff personnel, serves as the initial assignment counseling for Airmen stationed overseas. "Along with program information, the handout provides guidance on overseas assignment options and when and what actions to take," said Tech. Sgt. Trisha Davis, NCO in charge of Air Force assignment policy."The handout also identifies repercussions when Airmen fail to complete certain actions on time, such as involuntary extensions at the currently assigned overseas location," she said. Many Air Force programs have changed since the last handout was published in 2002. Among those changes are the Korea Assignment Incentive Pay and the High School Seniors Assignment Deferment programs. The handout also addresses current policy relevant to in-place consecutive overseas tour and consecutive overseas tour travel entitlements.
