Air Force officials announce lieutenant colonel selections

Air Force officials have announced the selection of 1,302 majors for promotion to lieutenant colonel. The board considered 6,866 line, chaplain and biomedical sciences corps officers.

Effective March 3, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen T. Michael Moseley redesignated the judge advocate general competitive category as Line of the Air Force-Judge Advocate. That change is reflected below as LAF-J.

LAF -- 1,063 selected from 1,426 considered for 74.5 percent select rate

LAF-J -- 24 selected from 33 considered for 72.7 percent select rate

BSC -- 37 selected from 71 considered for 52.1 percent select rate

CHAP -- 13 selected from 17 considered for 76.5 percent select rate

LAF -- 29 selected from 1,933 considered for 1.5 percent select rate

LAF-J -- 4 selected from 42 considered for 9.5 percent select rate

BSC -- 7 selected from 123 considered for 5.7 percent select rate

CHAP -- None selected from 32 considered
