(AFPN) -- The winners of the Air Force’s annual Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer Awards for 2005 have been announced. “Each year, the quality of the nominations we receive shows we have troops at every level of command who continue to excel in conducting warfighter missions around the world, making the caliber of competitions extremely challenging to select winners,” said Lt. The award is for the person whose communications and information contributions most enhanced the Air Force's warfighting capability. Sergeant Flores, the Outstanding Information Management NCO, also received the Airways and Air Communications Service Alumni Association Award. The new award recognizes the person whose contributions most supported Air Force missions and operations and the warfighters, and is given to an Air Force communications and information Airman from grade E-1 through E-5. As winners of the Air Force Information Assurance individual and element awards, Captain Flowers and the AFSCO will compete as the Air Force nominees for the National Security Agency’s Rowlett trophies.The Air Force Communications Agency manages the awards program, which received 458 award nominations for individuals, teams and units.All Air Force communications and information individual, team and unit award winners receive an Air Force memento recognizing their achievement. Each military individual award winner may wear the Air Force Recognition Ribbon, while civilian individual award winners may wear the Air Force Recognition Lapel Pin.
