Homeowner grant applications available for Katrina victims Published April 10, 2006 KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. (AFPN) -- Eligible homeowners who sustained flood-related damage caused by Hurricane Katrina although their residences were outside the flood zone may qualify for grants of up to $150,000. This includes people who were stationed at Keesler at the time of the hurricane and have since been reassigned to other locations.The application processing dates for the Keesler Service Center of the Hurricane Katrina Homeowners’ Grant Program run from April 20 through May 5. People may call (228) 377-1378 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for appointments to apply for the program. Appointments are at the center, located in the 2nd Air Force headquarters, 721 Hangar Road. The Keesler Service Center will make special arrangements to accommodate military people who meet all the requirements, but who are no longer in the local area. Reassigned and/or dislocated personnel can call the service center or to contact their former organization at Keesler.
