New checklist helps expedite hiring process Published March 14, 2006 Air Force Personnel Center RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- The Air Force Personnel Center has created a Request for Personnel Action checklist to help managers during the hiring process. The RPA checklist is a valuable tool used to assist managers and hiring officials in managing their civilian positions in a more efficient and timely manner. It was designed to provide AFPC and civilian personnel flights with pertinent information for all staffing actions, to include recruit, fill and noncompetitive actions. The checklist also eliminates the requirement of calling and speaking to management officials every time an RPA is submitted. When AFPC receives a recruit, fill or noncompetitive RPA, the career field employment team will send the manager an e-mail (with a courtesy copy to the CPF), stating the RPA was received and immediate action will begin. The enhanced checklist will provide all the required information necessary for AFPC and civilian personnel officials to begin taking immediate action. In order to make the checklist more user-friendly and eliminate duplication, position information, such as staffing and classification, has been combined under one heading. Several checklist items are bolded in red online with a reference to either Note 1 or Note 2. The career field employment team will return RPAs and checklists without action if the red bolded items are not completed. More information and instructions on the new checklist can be found on the AFPC Web site at https://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/dpc/doclib/staffing/staffing.htm.
