The Air Force recently selected 94 officers to attend specialized undergraduate pilot, navigator and air battle manager training.

The Specialized Undergraduate Flying Training Selection Board, which met at the Air Force Personnel Center here Jan. 24 to 26, considered 257 active-duty Air Force applicants for specialized undergraduate pilot training, specialized undergraduate navigator training and undergraduate air battle manager training.

The board selected 59 officers in the ranks of second lieutenant through captain to attend pilot training, including sending nine officers to Euro-NATO joint jet pilot training. They also selected 20 officers in the ranks of second lieutenant through captain to attend navigator training and 15 lieutenants for air battle manager training.

Officers who accept selection will be scheduled for training at the earliest possible date consistent with their age, time on station and date eligible to return from overseas. Priority will be given to those officers approaching the maximum age for entry into the training.

Some selects will begin classes April through June. Other selects will fill positions throughout fiscal 2006. Air Force officials will notify alternates of their selection for training if slots become available.
