Chief of chaplains sends holiday message

The following is a holiday message from Chaplain (Maj. Gen.) Charles C. Baldwin:

"On behalf of chaplains and chaplain assistants everywhere, I extend holiday greetings to all our fellow Airmen and their families. My heart is warmed as I witness firsthand the selfless sacrifices you make every day for America.

"We live in challenging times requiring our military presence around the globe, sometimes in harm’s way. The loneliness and anxiety associated with these separations can be difficult to deal with, particularly during this time of year. My hope is that you find encouragement and strength in knowing you are not alone.

"You are not alone because the American people surround you with their thoughts and prayers. They recognize the important work you are doing to safeguard our liberty. They are inspired by your courage.

"You are not alone because your military family is with you. Look to your comrades for help and support. They understand. They care and want to help.

"You are not alone because God cares about you and promises to hear when you call. Never hesitate to seek the help of a chaplain. He or she will welcome you and walk through your difficult time with you. Serving you is our greatest privilege as chaplains.

"The Hebrew Scripture records, 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me…' The Christian Scripture records, 'I am with you always...' you are not alone."
