Developmental engineering officers needed

  • Published
Some developmental engineering cross-flow opportunities exist for 2002 year group officers.

However, to be considered, their applications must be received at the Air Force Personnel Center here by Jan. 3.

Eligible officers, currently serving in over-strength career fields, must have an accredited engineering degree recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology to compete. Most cross-flow opportunities are for electrical and computer engineers.

A cross-flow selection board will convene Jan. 12. The cross-flow board will be the only means for force shaping board eligible officers to change their core identification to developmental engineering before the force shaping board.

Cross-flow board members will review each applicant's transitional-officer development plan, single unit retrieval format and officer selection record. Applicants must update their T-ODP listing developmental engineering duty titles at the top of the "duty preferences" section. Also, comments regarding the officer's desire to cross-flow into DE should be included under "officer comments."

Interested officers must first contact their assignment team to determine releasability to compete.

Selectees will be notified by Feb. 1 and immediately reclassified into the developmental engineering career field.

More information on this opportunity is available on the AFPC Web site at www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/acquis/62/62main.htm or call DSN 665-3834 or commercial (210) 565-3834 and select option 2.
