Airmen continue Pakistan relief effort Published Dec. 16, 2005 U.S. Central Command Air Forces Forward Public Affairs SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- The Air Force continues to support Pakistan-led earthquake recovery operations by airlifting much-needed supplies into the devastated region. Five Air Force C-130 Hercules and four C-17 Globemaster IIIs flew in more than 145,000 pounds of food, medical supplies, heaters, vehicle parts and office supplies in response to requests from Pakistan’s government. To date, the Air Force has airlifted more than 10 million pounds of relief supplies on 1,854 pallets to Pakistan using 49 C-130s, 44 C-17s and 52 contracted aircraft.
