AF names environmental winners Published Dec. 2, 2005 WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- The Air Force civil engineer announced the winners of the Gen. Thomas D. White Environmental Awards for 2005. Nine of the winners are eligible for the Secretary of Defense environmental awards and will go forward as the Air Force's nominees. The 2005 winners are: -- Environmental Quality Award (non-industrial): Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. -- Environmental Quality Award (reserve component including Air National Guard): Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Air Reserve Station, Minn. -- Environmental Quality Award (individual/team excellence): Teresa Clouse, Lt. Col. Clinton E. Taylor, David Laurence and James Robertson, Dyess AFB, Texas.-- Restoration Award (installation): Robins AFB, Ga. -- Restoration Award (individual/team excellence): Lawrence R. Olderbak, Grand Forks AFB, N.D. -- Pollution Prevention Award (industrial): Tinker AFB, Okla. -- Pollution Prevention Acquisition Award (individual/team): C-17 Integrated Product Team, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.-- Natural Resources Conservation Award (small base): Hurlburt Field, Fla. -- Cultural Resources Management Award (installation): Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. -- Natural Resources Conservation Award (individual/team): Moody AFB, Ga. "These awards recognize extraordinary contributions to the Air Force and clearly showcase our commitment to environmental stewardship," said Maj. Gen. L. Dean Fox, the Air Force civil engineer. " Congratulations to the winners for their leadership in our environmental program and their tireless commitment to excellence. This year's Secretary of Defense awards competition promises to be more competitive than ever." The Air Force captured four of eight Secretary of Defense environmental awards in 2004, environmental officials said. A ceremony and reception to honor the winners will take place at the Pentagon on May 3.
