U.S. Central Air Force's airpower summary for today is: 

Coalition aircraft flew 36 close-air support and armed reconnaissance sorties Nov. 2 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities. Coalition aircraft also supported Iraqi and coalition ground operations to create a secure environment for ongoing Transitional National Assembly meetings.

U.S. F-16 Fighting Falcons performed an air strike against a building used by anti-Iraqi forces in the vicinity of Karabilah. The F-16s expended precision-guided bombs with successful effects.

U.S. Air Force F-15s performed air strikes against buildings used by anti-Iraqi forces in the vicinity of Balad. The F-15s expended precision-guided bombs with successful effects.

A U.S. MQ-1 Predator provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces in the vicinity of Fallujah.

In addition, 10 U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq. Also, Royal Air Force fighter aircraft performed in a nontraditional ISR role using electro-optical and infrared sensors.

In Afghanistan, coalition aircraft flew 21 close-air support and armed reconnaissance sorties in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These missions included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and the conduct of presence route patrols.

In addition, three U.S. Air Force and French air force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

U.S. C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intratheater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. More than 175 airlift sorties delivered 340 tons of cargo and 2,500 passengers were transported.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Canada, Japan and South Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

On Nov. 1, U.S. Air Force and Royal Air Force tankers flew 33 sorties and offloaded more than 2.1 million pounds of fuel.
