Armed with a single user ID, password and valid stock number, Airmen can now get parts into the hands of warfighters quicker with a new Air Force Portal application.

The Enterprise Solution-Supply online tool gives logisticians the ability to find parts stored in any of the more than 300 Air Force depot- or base-level supply accounts with a single query -- that processes in seconds.

"Before ES-S went online, most logisticians did not have the ability to see assets located in other supply accounts. Those that were authorized still had to query each base supply database individually, a process that took considerably more time, and the parts located at the depots were not visible," said Senior Master Sgt. Peggy Jenkins, superintendent of the supply capabilities branch.

The sergeant is a member of the team that developed ES-S at the Development and Fielding Systems Group here.

With the tool, it takes less time to locate parts and fill orders from warfighters, she said.

“"This translates into shorter customer wait times and optimal usage of available parts,” she said. “ES-S has an immediate impact on Air Force operations, especially during military operations when having an accurate view of supplies is more critical."

ES-S also helps logisticians decide from which account to order parts.

ES-S shows which inventories to draw from first, and takes an item from an account that has it in excess before taking it from an account that may only have half of its required stock on hand, said Rich Lange, a supply systems analyst with Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

"ES-S can be used to find and order just about any Air Force-managed item ranging from communications gear to aircraft and some vehicle parts," Sergeant Jenkins said. "It can't be used, however, to order medical supplies or munitions because those are not managed in traditional Air Force supply accounts."
