Air Warfare Center changes names to USAF Warfare Center Published Oct. 11, 2005 NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. (AFPN) -- The Air Warfare Center here officially changed its name Oct. 1 to the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center. The new name more accurately reflects the center's expanding responsibility to integrate space and information operations with traditional air warfare, officials said. The expansion was previously announced by the Air Force in April. No units are anticipated to relocate at this time. Rather, consistent with the center's longstanding approach to its mission, the units to be integrated will remain at their present locations to optimize the expertise associated with their particular mediums, in this case, space and information operations. The center currently includes units spread across 19 states. (Courtesy of Air Combat Command News Service)
