Cadet arrested for alleged sexual assault Published Sept. 20, 2005 U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AFPN) -- A third-class cadet was arrested Sept. 19 by local police and charged with sexual assault in the first degree -- physical helplessness. He is currently in the custody of the local police department.The alleged incident occurred between Sept. 10 and 11 during a party involving 20 to 30 people at a private residence. It was reported to academy security forces officials by another cadet attending the party. An unknown number of other cadets were present in the residence at the time the alleged crime occurred, and alcohol was involved in the incident.Office of Special Investigations officials here are assisting the police in a joint investigation into the incident. As in every case, leaders here said they take any allegation of sexual assault seriously and will fully cooperate with local authorities in their investigation.
