IG investigation prompts Air Force official's reassignment

Michael L. Dominguez, acting secretary of the Air Force, and Gen. John P. Jumper, Air Force chief of staff, have directed that Brig. Gen. Richard S. Hassan be reassigned as a result of an Air Force Inspector General investigation.

General Hassan has been reassigned from director of Air Force Senior Leadership Management Office to the special assistant to the deputy chief of staff of personnel.

Mr. Dominguez has assigned the case for appropriate action to the commander of Air Force Space Command, Gen. Lance W. Lord. General Lord has full discretion to dispose of the matter as he sees fit. Delegation to a major command commander is a normal procedure in a case such as this, and no assumptions should be made because of that delegation.

Details of the investigation are being withheld pending action by General Lord.

Brig. Gen. William A. Chambers has been designated as the acting director of the Air Force Senior Leader Management Office.
