Cadet finishes second at track and field championships Published June 24, 2005 CARSON, Calif. (AFPN) -- U.S. Air Force Academy cadet Dana Pounds wrapped up an incredible season with a second-place showing at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships here June 23.Pounds, the top collegiate javelin thrower once again, threw 177 feet, 4 inches to place second overall behind American record-holder Kim Kreiner. Kreiner, a competitor for the Nike team, tossed 184-7 to win the event.With the strong showing against the nation’s top athletes, Pounds wrapped up an incredible season that included national, regional and conference championship titles, officials said.
