Officials announce manpower, organization winners

Air Force officials have announced the winners of the 2004 Air Force Manpower and Organization awards.

The annual awards recognize the top manpower and organization professionals in each category.

The 2004 winners are:

-- Headquarters-Level Field Grade Officer of the Year: Lt. Col. Gregory Parsons from Pacific Air Forces headquarters at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

-- Headquarters-Level Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. Derek Hamby from Air Force Space Command headquarters at Peterson AFB, Colo.

-- Headquarters-Level Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Paul Adderty from Air Combat Command headquarters at Langley AFB, Va.

-- Headquarters-Level NCO of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Christopher Stephens from the Pentagon in Washington.

-- Headquarters-Level Senior Civilian of the Year: Walter Brandquist from AFSPC headquarters.

-- Headquarters-Level Intermediate Civilian of the Year: Traci Hunter from PACAF headquarters.

-- Installation-Level Field Grade Officer of the Year: Maj. Ricardo Young from the 374th Mission Support Squadron at Yokota Air Base, Japan.

-- Installation-Level Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. Cornell Burgess from the 347th MSS at Moody AFB, Ga.

-- Installation-Level Senior NCO of the Year: Senior Master Sgt. Donald Dufner from the 39th MSS at Incirlik AB, Turkey.

-- Installation-Level NCO of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Rick Bottorff from the 60th MSS at Travis AFB, Calif.

-- Installation-Level Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Daniel Rivas from the 16th MSS at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

-- Installation-Level Senior Civilian of the Year: James Getchell from the 82nd MSS at Sheppard AFB, Texas.

-- Installation-Level Intermediate Civilian of the Year: Steve Oien from the 60th MSS.

-- Senior Civilian Manager of the Year: Michael Maher from the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB, Calif.

-- Large Manpower and Organization Office of the Year: 53rd Wing at Eglin AFB, Fla.

-- Small Manpower and Organization Office of the Year: 52nd Fighter Wing at Spangdahlem AB, Germany.

-- Air Force Director of Manpower and Organization Special Recognition Awards for Outstanding and Dedicated Service: Stephen Sadler from the Pentagon; Manpower Systems Branch from the Standard Systems Group headquarters at Gunter Annex, Ala.; and Jerry Hayes from AFSPC headquarters.
