Honor guard, ceremonial guardsmen award winners named

Air Force officials recently announced the winners of the 2004 Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Base Honor Guard and U.S. Air Force Ceremonial Guardsmen Awards.

The winners are:

-- Honor Guard Program Manager of the Year: Master Sgt. Angela Valentine from Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark.

-- Base Honor Guard Member of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Anthony Lamagna from Maxwell AFB, Ala.

-- Ceremonial Guardsman of the Year, Airman: Airman 1st Class Michael Crawford from Bolling AFB, D.C.

-- Ceremonial Guardsman of the Year, Noncommissioned Officer: Staff Sgt. Charles T. Forrest from Bolling.

-- Ceremonial Guardsman of the Year, Senior NCO: Master Sgt. Michael McMillan from Bolling.

This is the third year of the awards program. The awards were created to recognize the top two base honor guard members worldwide and the top ceremonial guardsman in the Air Force honor guard. The awards are based on the entire scope of an honor guard member's duties and achievements, officials said.
