Officials announce environmental award winners Published April 22, 2005 SAN ANTONIO (AFPN) -- Officials recently announced the Air Force, Department of Defense and White House environmental award winners.The winners of the 2004 Air Force General Thomas D. White Environmental Award are:-- Environmental Quality Award (Industrial): Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.-- Environmental Quality Award (Reserve Component): Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind.-- *Environmental Quality Award (Overseas): Misawa Air Base, Japan.-- *Restoration Award (All Installations): Keesler AFB, Miss.-- Pollution Prevention Award (Non-Industrial): Hurlburt Field, Fla.-- Natural Resources Conservation Award (Large Installation): Arnold AFB, Tenn.-- *Cultural Resources Management Award (All Installations): Hickam AFB, Hawaii.-- *Pollution Prevention Award for Individual and Team Excellence: Tinker AFB Pollution Prevention Team.-- Cultural Resources Management Award for Individual and Team Excellence: Takeshi Ukon from Misawa AB.-- National Environmental Policy Act Award for Team Excellence: Eglin AFB Environmental Impact Analysis Process Team.*These award winners went on to win the 2004 Secretary of Defense Environmental Awards.The Air Force winners for the 2005 White House Closing the Circle Awards are:-- Recycling-Military: The recycling center in Little Rock AFB, Ark.-- Waste Pollution and Prevention-Military: Luke AFB, Ariz.
