Scoring a perfect score on a career development course end-of-course exam is a remarkable accomplishment for anyone. Doing it twice is even more amazing.

Airman Melynda Meshlovitz, of the 82nd Civil Engineer Squadron, did just that when she became the first in her career field, an environmental control journeyman, and 23rd in the Air Force to receive a perfect score on both sets of her CDC tests, said Tammy Martz. She is a program analyst from the Air Force Institute for Advanced Distributed Learning at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.

"Airman Meshlovitz receiving these scores is no surprise to our shop," said Staff Sgt. Marc Sullivan, Airman Meshlovitz's supervisor. "Every challenge we throw at her, she completes exceptionally."

Not only did Airman Meshlovitz receive two perfect scores on her CDCs, she also completed her upgrade training for her 5-level early.

"In order to be deployable, I had to get all of my upgrade training completed," she said.

She had to apply for a waiver from the wing commander to complete the training early.

"It was important for me to get everything done early because it was a challenge," Airman Meshlovitz said. "No one else had done it before."

Airman Meshlovitz said she plans to make the Air Force a career and eventually get commissioned. She is scheduled to deploy supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom later this month.

The Airman said she studied a lot while in the shop and during her personal time. She also said computer-based practice tests helped her.

"Any down time at the shop, she was studying," Sergeant Sullivan said. "She definitely was willing to go above and beyond."

Airman Meshlovitz said a lot of studying along with understanding the material is key to upgrade training and passing the CDCs.

"To do well, repetition of going over the material helps in receiving the best scores," she said.
