Combat Talon crashes in Albania

An MC-130H Combat Talon II aircraft that crashed while on a joint training mission with the Albanian military, U.S. European Command officials announced April 1. There were nine people on board.

A EUCOM news release said the crash occurred in a remote, mountainous area southeast of the Albanian capital of Tirana.

No report was yet available on the status of those on board. Weather in the area is hampering U.S. and Albanian search and rescue efforts, officials said.

The aircraft was assigned to the 352nd Special Operations Group based at the Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England. An investigation into the cause of the crash is under way. (Courtesy of American Forces Press Service and U.S. European Command)
