Officials announce selections to colonel, lieutenant colonel Published Feb. 24, 2005 RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas (AFPN) -- Air Force officials selected 505 lieutenant colonels and 76 majors for promotion.The Colonel Central Selection Board considered 4,356 line of the Air Force, judge advocate general, chaplain, biomedical science corps and medical service corps officers for promotion. The Lieutenant Colonel Central Selection Board considered 357 judge advocate general, chaplain and medical service corps officers for promotion.The results and selected statistics are as follows:In-the-promotion zone for colonel:-- 372 line officers were selected from 808 considered for a 46 percent selection rate.-- 17 judge advocate general officers were selected from 31 considered for a 54.8 percent selection rate.-- 10 chaplains were selected from 22 considered for a 45.5 percent selection rate.-- 16 biomedical science corps officers were selected from 36 considered for a 44.4 percent selection rate.-- 10 medical service corps officers were selected from 21 considered for a 47.6 percent selection rate.Above-the-promotion zone for colonel:-- Seven line officers were selected from 931 considered for a 0.8 percent selection rate.-- One judge advocate general officer was selected from 44 considered for a 2.3 percent selection rate.-- One biomedical science corps officer was selected from 53 considered for a 1.9 percent selection rate.-- Two medical service corps officers were selected from 31 considered for a 6.5 percent selection rate.-- No chaplains were selected from 26 considered.Below-the-promotion zone for colonel:-- 66 line officers were selected from 2,136 considered for a 3.1 percent selection rate.-- One judge advocate general officer was selected from 80 considered for a 1.3 percent selection rate.-- One biomedical science corps officer was selected from 76 considered for a 1.3 percent selection rate.-- One medical service corps officer was selected from 61 considered for a 1.6 percent selection rate.-- No chaplains were consideration for below-the-promotion zone.In-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:-- 36 judge advocate general officers were selected from 48 considered for a 75 percent selection rate.-- 10 chaplains were selected from 20 considered for a 50 percent selection rate.-- 19 medical service corps officers were selected from 27 considered for a 70.4 percent selection rate.Above-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:-- Four judge advocate general officers were selected from 44 considered for a 9.1 percent selection rate.-- Two chaplains were selected from 32 considered for a 6.3 percent selection rate.-- Two medical service corps officers were selected from 36 considered for a 5.6 percent selection rate.Below-the-promotion zone for lieutenant colonel:-- One judge advocate general officer was selected from 74 considered for a 1.4 percent selection rate.-- Two medical service corps officers were selected from 76 considered for a 2.6 percent selection rate.-- No chaplains were consideration for below-the-promotion zone.The entire list is posted on the Air Force Personnel Center's Web site at www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/offprom/.
