An instructor here was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to two violations of Article 92 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice during a special court-martial Feb. 7.

Staff Sgt. Jennifer Jones, an aerospace medical service apprentice course instructor in the 383rd Training Squadron, was arraigned for wrongfully conducting a sexual and personal social relationship with one of her students, and for disobeying a no-contact order.

The military judge presiding over the trial accepted her guilty pleas and sentenced Sergeant Jones to a reduction-in-rank to senior airman, forfeiture of $500 pay per month for two months and a reprimand.

The court-martial findings and sentence are not final until approved by the 82nd Training Wing commander. Additionally, the military justice system allows Sergeant Jones the opportunity to appeal her case, officials said.

Sergeant Jones chose to have her case tried by a military judge rather than by a panel of officers, officials said.
