Air Force golfers take third at Troy Invitational

Tyler Goulding led the Air Force Academy golf team to a third-place finish at the Troy Invitational, which ended here Nov. 9. The Falcons finished six strokes behind the University of West Florida, which posted a three-round total of 879, and three strokes behind Tennessee Tech University, the only team to shoot better than a 300 in the final round.

Goulding finished the tournament at 1-under-par 215 after shooting a 72 in the final round, tying for the best score of the day. Scott Redmond also finished in the Top 10, coming in tied for eighth with a 4-over-par 220. Rounding out the Top 20 performers for the Falcons was Ben Jackman, who tied for 18th at 224.

Also competing for the Falcons were Daryl McCoy, who finished tied for 39th at 231, and Tyler Labrum, with a three-round total of 233 to tie for 48th place.

The Falcons completed their fall schedule and play again Feb. 28 and March 1 at the University of Texas at San Antonio Intercollegiate.
