Falcon golfers in second after first day of Troy Invitational

Three Air Force Academy golfers turned in top-20 performances, driving the Falcons into second place at the conclusion of Day One of the Troy Invitational here. Air Force, which shot a season-best 287 in the second round, sits six strokes behind team leader University of West Florida with a two-round total of 581.

Air Force Scott Redmond is currently tied for first place after shooting a 2-under-par 142 on Day One. Tyler Goulding sits right behind Redmond in the standings, tied for third at 1-under after firing a season-best 70 in the first round. Ben Jackman, who shot a 76 to open the day, rebounded in the second round with a 71 to tie for 19th with a 3-over 147.

Also competing for the Falcons are Daryl McCoy, who is tied for 24th at 5-over par, and Tyler Labrum, who is tied for 54th at 156.

The Troy Invitational concludes Nov. 9.
