San Diego State soaks Air Force swimmers, 177-122 Published Nov. 4, 2004 SAN DIEGO (AFPN) -- The Air Force Academy women’s swimming team opened a Mountain West Conference dual-meet with a 177-122 loss at San Diego State University here Nov. 3. The Falcons fall to 11-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference meets.San Diego State took first in 11 of the 16 events, led by Emily Schmied, who won the 100- and 200-yard butterfly and the 200 individual medley.The Falcons were led by Lauren White, who took first in the 500 free (5 minutes 8.34 seconds) and 1,000 free (10:37.56). Team captain Andrea Hyma also finished first for Air Force, winning the 50 free with a time of 25.41 seconds.The Falcon relay teams won the 200-medley and 400-free relays. Rachael Miller, Carly Omizo, Lindsey Kirchhoff and Hyma won the 200 medley relay at 1:51.85. Ginny Miller, Stephanie Hirst, Kallyn Johnson and Omizo took the 400 free relay at 3:15.84.Danielle Dowds was the top diver for Air Force, taking second in both the 1-meter (211.88 points) and 3-meter (209.33) dives.The Falcons swim again Nov. 5 and 6, with the men’s team at the Big West Shootout in Irvine, Calif.
