Air Force golfers finish eighth at Shangri La Shootout

The Air Force Academy golf team fired a team-best round of 300 on Oct. 24 to finish eighth at the Shangri La Shootout, held by Oral Roberts University at the 7,102-yard, par-72 Shangri La Blue Course.

Oklahoma City University took home the team title with a three-round total of 882. Fifteen teams competed in the tournament.

Tyler Goulding tied for eighth place with a 5-over par 221 to lead the Falcons. Scott Redmond tied for 17th at 224, and Daryl McCoy shot a 233 to tie for 47th.

Ben Jackman rebounded from a rough first day to shoot a team-best round of 73 on Oct. 24. He tied for 55th at 239, and Bob Whitney rounded out the group for Air Force, finishing in a tie for 63rd at 240.

The Falcons will conclude their fall schedule Nov. 8 and 9 when they head to the Troy State Invitational in Dothan, Ala.
