Crash victim identified

Department of Defense officials identified an Airman who died in Afghanistan on Oct. 21.

Airman 1st Class Jesse M. Samek, 21, of Rogers, Ark., died Oct. 21 from injuries he received when an HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter crashed during a medical-evacuation mission.

He was a flight engineer assigned to the 66th Rescue Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. Airman Samek entered active duty in February 2003.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
